How Your Confidence Is Tied To Your Money — & How To Increase Both In 2019

Posted by [email protected] on Comments comments (0)

Let’s start this off by just saying that as women, we want to have our voices heard, or confidence and self-esteem levels high, and our pockets full. And putting inequality aside, we can, we should, and we will become more confident about ourselves and even increase our finances. You may be wondering, what is the relationship between confidence and money? Well, you’re about to find out.

What Is the Relationship Between Confidence and Money?

According to Urbanbalance.com, the way you view and portray yourself can have a direct impact on how much money you carry in your pockets. When you believe in yourself and realize how much you can achieve, you begin to act in a way that allows you to go after what you want and increase your financial success because you will make confident decisions that you will achieve. Remember that it all starts with having the right mindset and believing in yourself.

Okay, But How Do I Increase My Confidence?

Easier said than done. Well. Actually, it is easy to do it.

Start by paying attention to your personal care.

For many people, when your hair is clean, your nails are trimmed and clean, you smell good, and you get dressed nicely, your attitude suddenly changes, and you feel like a brand-new person. Remember this: when you look good, you feel good. (Take it from me — I wrote this article in my $90 silk pajamas just because I felt fancy and inspired. I smelled good, too!)

Eat healthily.

We all have a different definition of “healthy.” For some, it merely means eating lots of fruits, vegetables, drinking water, and avoiding carbs. For others, it means eating pizza for breakfast, pasta for lunch, and a salad for dinner (totally not me…). But did you know that when you eat clean, your body thanks you by releasing happiness hormones, and therefore your confidence increases since you are happy that you ate healthily? Yes, your body is terrific and rewards you for taking good care of it.

Think positively about yourself.

Listen, sweetheart. In life, you are NOT going anywhere if you do not think highly of yourself. You are distinctly unique, valuable, a go-getter, a warrior! You deserve to feel good about yourself because you are a mysterious creature that is capable of achieving anything. When you wake up each morning, grab a journal and write what you’re thankful for, and daily affirmations. Not only will you be reminded of how blessed you are, but you are going to increase your confidence and have productive days ahead.

Okay, How About Money?

Is it all about the money? Or is it the freedom it brings? Let’s see… One of the main struggles of being a woman is having to deal with the wage gap. It may seem impossible to increase your income in the face of systemic problems and biases. But here are a few things you should realize, and do:

There are more women than men going to college.

With more women than men currently involved in higher education, we can predict that jobs receive more resumes from qualified women than men. Given this fact, if you are in a job position where you know that you could be getting paid more, but they refuse to give you a raise, you can try your best to find another job that suits your qualifications and skills.

Get educated.

There are many things you can do as a woman to defeat the wage gap on a personal level. Getting educated is one of them. A college degree can get you to places. If you already have a degree or want to explore other options, consider taking courses to learn new skills that you can display on your resume. Not only can it get you hired, but you can also try to get a raise with your new skills!

Manage your money!

In 10 simple steps, you can manage your money like a pro. (Check out this guide here!) Knowing how to manage your money can not only help you save, you can also learn how to invest it and make it work for you.

The Connection?

Confidence = Money

When you work on your confidence and begin to believe in yourself, you can become motivated to improve continuously and to challenge yourself. Once you do that, you can help to increase your income by using your motivation to go after what you want.

Here’s a mantra:

I believe in myself

I can and will achieve great things

I am beautiful and talented

I am a money magnet

I have an abundance of money in my bank account

I get what I want, always

Nothing is stopping me from improving my situation

I will not limit myself

Nach Weihnachten: 80% aller Österreicher wollen Verwandte umtauschen

Posted by [email protected] on Comments comments (0)

London Fashion Week Goes Fur-Free, Setting a Real Trend for All Other Events to Follow!

Posted by [email protected] on Comments comments (0)

Here’s some exciting news to give animal advocates a reason to celebrate — London Fashion Week has announced it is going fur-free!

This announcement comes after Humane Society International UK (HSI UK) petitioned London Fashion Week to drop the cruel material. Wendy Higgins, Director of Communications for HSI UK expressed, “This is a pivotal moment in the demise of the cruel fur trade. We are thrilled that the British Fashion Council has made this trail-blazing decision for London Fashion Week to go fur-free. It sends out a clarion call of compassion to the other fashion weeks in New York, Paris and Milan to similarly take a bold ethical stance, and it challenges too those designers still using fur to re-examine their morals. Fur cruelty is no longer welcome on the catwalk at London Fashion Week, and that is a powerful and exhilarating victory for animals that we hope others will follow … The future is fur-free … we all just took one step closer to realizing that future.”

This wonderful news falls in line with the growing trend away from fur in the fashion industry. Earlier this week, Burberry announced it was going fur-free, joining major fashion powerhouses like Gucci, Versace, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Armani, HUGO BOSS, Michael Kors, and Jimmy Choo, just to name a few. Additionally, California cities West Hollywood, Berkeley, and San Francisco have bans on the sale of fur, as do Sao Paolo, Brazil, and India. Los Angeles is also considering a ban.

The UK is a world leader in the anti-fur movement, having enforced the world’s first fur farming ban in 2000. However, there is still much more work to be done, as the country still permits the import of fur, an issue HSI is also trying to change. And although so many leading designers have dropped fur, there are still some like Prada and Dolce & Gabbana that do.

Why is fur so terrible? Aside from the clear answer that it is the product of murdered animals who live in cramped, barren cages their entire lives only to be gassed or painfully electrocuted (often anally) and skinned (while some are still alive!), the fur industry also has an environmental impact.

Higgins explained: “There is nothing luxurious about incarcerating wild animals in tiny metal cages their whole lives and then gassing or electrocuting them for frivolous fur, and nothing glamorous about polluting our environment with a cocktail of toxic chemicals and substances such as chromium and formaldehyde used in the dressing and tanning process. The fur trade comes with a hefty environmental price tag from start to finish, and no amount of greenwashing by the fur trade can change that. All materials have an eco-footprint, but fur is right at the top of that list. Consumers are recognizing that and demanding higher ethical standards than that.”

HSI reports that 130 million animals like mink are raised for the fur industry each year, but this number does not include the hundreds of millions of rabbits killed for their fur annually, information that is not reported by the fur industry. And in the wild, animals like coyotes suffer slow, agonizing deaths in traps before being skinned so their fur can trim hoods on jackets — downright appalling and nauseating. How anyone could see wearing a dead animal as “fashion” is beyond us, and we are so glad London Fashion Week is making it even more clear that fur is SO out.

We hope the rest of the fashion industry soon follows suit! Sign this petition to get Dolce & Gabbana to ditch fur. And sign this petition to get Prada to do away with fur.

And remember to share this exciting news with your network as a reminder that FUR IS OUT!

Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms With Green Beans

Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms With Green Beans

Stuffed portobellos are always on our “to eat” list. First of all, mushrooms are the perfect Paleo food – they can be grown or wild harvested and they have been around since the beginning of time. Can’t get more prehistoric than that! Secondly, along with massive amounts of antioxidants loaded into each mushroom, there are so many kinds to choose from. Lastly, texture is definitely not lacking, nor is the range of flavor from species to species. Diversity is king in the fungi world, but today we’ll stick to portobellos, because they are prefect for stuffing.

The act of consuming mushrooms is a time-honored way of getting non-animal-based proteins into your diet, and it is a good way to add essential vitamins and minerals when you take the initiative to push grains off your plate. In fact, there isn’t even anything very mysterious about a portobello – it is just a very mature white button mushroom, that is it, nothing more. Perhaps the greatest thing about mushrooms is that they can be added to soups, stir-fries, casseroles and salads, and as we’ve already proclaimed, stuffed is the way to go. Sausage-stuffed button mushrooms, anyone? They make the perfect little appetizer.

As this dish is a complete meal on its own, there is no need to create a complementary side dish, though if it feels that a sweet aftertaste is missing from your menu, let us suggest an ambercup coconut milk dessert. It does complete the meal nicely.
